Applied Design, Skills, and Technology

ADST is the part of the curriculum that gets us to explore new skills, tinker, and use technology to solve complex problems. In Grade 7, you will be introduced to a process called design thinking.

What is Design Thinking?

This process will let you get to intimately know a problem, come up with multiple ways to solve it, and receive feedback from others to find the best solution. Design thinking is known as a human-centred approach to problem solving.

We use design thinking informally in a lot of ways: to make rules/laws for our classroom in Class Meeting, to invent new and fun tag games for Gym, and to complete maker challenges. We will also be explicitly using design thinking in projects later this year, but those are still to be announced! :)
