What a blur this last month has been! It feels like we just got back from Spring Break and here we are, already in the month of May. Term 3 truly zooms by faster each year.
The highlight of the month was undoubtedly GRADE 7 CAMP! Despite the drizzling rain, we had an epic day of climbing, archery, low ropes challenges, and games. Students had a fantastic lunch provided by Camp Stillwood and we left with so many positive memories of that day. Here are some photos of the experience and we will have plenty more in the Grade 7 Farewell slideshow:

Throughout April, we also finished our Lit Circle unit by creating a character biography for the final project.. This strengthened our understanding of characters (and people!), their personalities, and how they are constantly growing and changing over time. Students did an incredible job and created detailed and beautiful final projects you can see here.
At the end of the month, students had an opportunity to take part in the midterm check-in for the Develop the Future AppDev project we've been working on since Term 2. They were able to learn some professional career tips from Noah, our Career Education Council mentor, and were prompted to showcase their app idea and what they had so far for their wireframe on Keynote. This helped students to practice their presentation skills and model professionalism.
They also had the opportunity to see the app ideas of their peers and provide feedback to improve their work. The ADST curriculum calls for us to move through a constant cycle of prototyping, testing, and refinement. That is exactly what we hope to take away into the final months of the school year, building up to an exciting final showcase event (which doubles as a field trip!) in June.
While we could cover more, this is already a long post, so we'll leave it at that for the April recap. Buckle up for the high octane months of May and June where every special event seems to land - there will be lots of updates so keep your eyes peeled on your emails throughout these two months so you don't miss anything!
Please check out the News section of our website to hear about important dates coming up as well as the numerous special events going on in Grade 7 in the next little while!
