It started off with our first meeting with Zofia Switkowski, our District Restorative Action teacher, who has been teaching us about conflict styles and management and self-regulation. We have been meeting with her weekly to discuss these very important self-awareness and social-emotional skills.
The Gator Quality leadership students from WGSS visited our Grade 7 students on May 10, and took them through a series of fun activities and discussions about the transition to high school.
Students also focused on their poetry unit with Mrs. Sereduik, working with a small group to develop a piece that is intended to be spoken aloud.
In math, we completed our algebra unit and students did very well on their assessment! Well done, Div 1! We are now moving into our final units of linear relations and transformations. Both of these units require knowledge of the Cartesian Plane and principles of graphing.
Students have been working on a number of creative projects including their "AppDev" project - which will take us on a CareerEd/ADST-based field trip in June. They have also been developing their Sports Day station with a small group, and working on the creation of a French catalogue to demonstrate their knowledge of clothing vocabulary and phrases.
We went to Extreme Air Park last week for our make-up field trip (since there was no snow for Mt. Seymour snow tubing in February) and students had a great time jumping together!
